| Coscos
in-house advertising agency has been named winner of 3 prestigious Communicator
Awards in the print competition. These awards recognize excellence in communicating
with the target audience in a variety of categories, including catalogs,
POP, cartons, and newsletters. Entries are judged independently on a point
scale; only those scoring at the higher levels receive awards.
The Crystal Communicator Award of Excellence, presented for entries judged among the best in the country and the highest award given, was presented to Cosco for its 2000 Juvenile Catalog. The elegant gold-lettered cover introduces both product and glamour photography in a clean, open layout. Cosco earned the Crystal Award of Distinction, given to entries that exceed industry standards, for the 2000 Cosco Home Furnishings Catalog. Photography, design, copy and layout were all done in-house. The catalog features large product photos with highlighted copy and a unique cover design celebrating the millennium. Cosco received another Crystal Award of Distinction for the carton for Coscos Musical Trainer. The carton features brand identification along with captioned in-use photos, accented with bright color and musical notes. "We are extremely proud of our advertising department," stated Vice President of Marketing Paul Berney. "They are talented individuals whose group efforts produce outstanding results for everything from these award-winning entries to instruction booklets to POPs to videos." Cosco has previously won a Communicator Award for its web site, www.coscoinc.com. Cosco is a leading manufacturer of home furnishings products as well as a major manufacturer of juvenile products. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dorel Industries, Inc. in Montreal, Canada.
